The Predigtstuhl
The local mountain of Bad Reichenhall, the Predigtstuhl is your direct neighbor. From the balcony you have a wonderful view of the summit. The cable car is right outside the door. Close your laptop and 10 minutes later you're standing on the mountain. A panoramic restaurant awaits you at the summit, as well as a rustic mountain hut with a warming fire in winter. There are also many kilometers of hiking trails in the fresh mountain air.
Bad Reichenhall
Bad Reichenhall is a spa town with a long tradition. The Alpine town offers many opportunities for a relaxing vacation. The Rupertustherme, the Alte Saline, the pedestrian zone with many stores and restaurants.
Salzburg
Salzburg is the capital of the province of the same name and the fourth largest city in Austria. The old town with its numerous historic buildings has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1996. In summer, the city hosts numerous concerts as part of the world-famous Salzburg Festival. The city of Mozart can be reached by car in 20 minutes, by train in 45 minutes or by bike in around an hour.
Berchtesgaden
Berchtesgaden lies at the foot of the Watzmann, the second highest mountain in Germany. The town is known for its salt mine, the Eagle's Nest, the Watzmann Therme, the historic pedestrian zone and is only a few minutes away by train or car.
National Park Berchtesgaden
The National Park Berchtesgaden is the only national park in the German Alps. It was founded in 1978 and covers an area of 210 km². Countless hiking trails of all levels of difficulty, a boat trip across the Königssee or get an overview with the cable car up the Jenner. The national park is only a few minutes away by car or train.
Hiking
Many hiking trails start directly at the house. But also the surrounding area or especially the National Park Berchtesgaden offer unique hiking opportunities in the Alps.
Cycling
The Alpine town of Bad Reichenhall is an ideal starting point for cycling tours. Whether by mountain bike, trekking bike or racing bike, there are many possibilities. The German Alpine Road, the Mozart Cycle Path, and many more pass through Bad Reichenhall. A particular biking highlight are the tours available in the Nationalpark Berchtesgaden. The possibilities are endless.
Skiing
Although downhill skiing is not possible directly in the town, the ski areas around Bad Reichenhall are diverse. Whether as a family or as a professional, there is something for everyone. The large Austrian ski area "Almenwelt Lofer" is probably the most popular with the people of Bad Reichenhall, not only because it can be reached in just 25 minutes by car. The huge Saalbach Hinterglemm ski area in Austria with 156 km of pistes is just an hour's drive away. Several smaller areas in the German Alps are close by, e.g. Götschen, Rossfeld, Hochschwarzeck or Obersalzberg. Friends of cross-country skiing, ski tourers and snowshoe hikers also get their money's worth in and around Bad Reichenhall.
Tobogganing
Tobogganing is fun for the whole family. The small floodlit toboggan run "Alpgarten" is 5 minutes away by car. The toboggan run "Hirscheckblitz" on the Hochschwarzeck is 20 minutes away by car and offers a rapid descent over 400 meters in altitude.
